CivixApp (“Civix,” “we,” “our”) is a US Citizenship test preparation app supporting 8 languages with bilingual learning mode and Algorithm v5 adaptive learning. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect (almost none) and how we handle it.

Our Core Principle

We do not sell your personal data, and we have no user accounts. Your study progress, quiz results, favorites, and preferences are stored locally on your device and are never transmitted to our servers. The only time data leaves your device is when you choose to use the AI mock interview (see below), plus anonymous crash diagnostics. We do not run advertising or cross-app tracking.

What We Do Not Collect

No personal information (name, email, phone number)

No device fingerprinting or advertising identifiers

Data Stored on Your Device

The following data is stored locally on your device using on-device storage. This data never leaves your device and is not accessible to us:

Study progress and quiz history
Favorite questions and learning preferences
App settings (language, theme, notifications)
Bilingual learning mode preferences and progress
Algorithm v5 adaptive learning state
Interview practice history

If you delete the app, all locally stored data is permanently removed.

Subscriptions and Payments

In-app purchases and subscriptions are processed entirely by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). We do not receive, process, or store your payment information, credit card details, or billing address. For purchase-related inquiries, refer to your App Store or Google Play account.

AI Interview Feature

When you use the optional AI mock interview feature, the audio you speak and its text transcript are sent to our secure server and then to OpenAI, our AI processing provider (sub-processor), to generate interview feedback in real time. This is the only feature that transmits data off your device, and it only happens while you are actively using it. A randomly generated device identifier is used solely to manage your active session and rate limiting — it contains no personal information and cannot be used to identify you.

Your interview audio and transcripts are processed in real time, are not used to train AI models, and are not stored, logged, or retained by us after the session ends. OpenAI processes this data under its own API data-usage terms. No account, name, or email is required to use this feature. If you never use the AI interview, no data leaves your device.

Device Identifiers

The app generates a random, anonymous device identifier stored only on your device. This identifier is used exclusively for AI interview session management and rate limiting. It is not linked to your identity, cannot be used to track you across apps or services, and is never shared with third parties. You can reset it at any time by reinstalling the app.

Third-Party Services

CivixApp does not integrate any third-party advertising or cross-app tracking services. We use two service providers in a limited capacity: OpenAI, which processes your audio and transcripts during the AI interview (described above), and a crash-reporting tool (Sentry) that collects anonymous diagnostic data to help us fix bugs. Neither is used to advertise to you or track you across other apps. In-app purchases are handled by Apple or Google. Outside of these, your study data stays on your device.

Children's Privacy

CivixApp is an educational app rated 4+ and is safe for all ages. We do not knowingly collect any information from children or any other users.

Data Security

Since we do not collect or store your data, there is no risk of data breaches affecting your personal information through our service. Data stored locally on your device is protected by your device's built-in security features.

Your Rights

Because we do not collect personal data, there is typically no data for us to provide, modify, or delete. If you have any concerns, you may contact us and we will respond within 30 days.
